Spaun would have been a significant longshot victor at golf's "fifth major" at 110-1 odds before the tournament, compared to McIlroy who had one of the shortest odds of the weekend. Is there another sizeable longshot who can make a run and possibly capture the 2025 Valspar Championship?

Some observations and insights around this last week's tournament and heading into the next Major, the Masters at Augusta National... I think Scheffler will win at Augusta this year. He seems more motivated than ever. The frustration at TPC was out of character. He's very intense behind the chuckling personality Still time for Rory to win at Augusta. Curious and interested to see if he can ignore *all* the demons at Augusta (a tall order), but he should be in contention... Seems to be working harder than ever. Especially amid all the chaos with the cell phone heckler early in week. Akshay's ball striking is impressive ... But as good as he hits it, that putting is atrocious. He was missing uphill 5-footers with no break. He might be a worse putter than Ben An. Incredible to play that well and putt that poorly. Patrick McDonald just locked in his PGA Tour best bets for the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill. McDonald loves the value of Patrick Cantlay at +3000 (risk $100 to win $3,000) this week. Bay Hill is one of the most challenging tests on the PGA Tour, creating serious problems for missed fairways and playing from the rough. Cantlay is one of the top golfers in the field in terms of ball striking on similar courses, using precision to his advantage in these conditions.
